One of the good things of Sofilantjes is the fact that you can combine the skirt pieces from several patterns. This way you could already make a Regina with the cirkel skirt of the Solis, or the high low Litore skirt etc. The new half circle skirt can therefore also be mixed with other patterns. Last summer, the Valis released, and many people fell in love with the low back, but the Valis does not have sleeves. Now, with this add-on you can also make a dress with long sleeves, Valis skirt and low back. The low back gives the Regina an instant fancy party feel., especially with those eye catching sleeve pleats.
Een van de fijne dingen van Sofilantjes is het feit dat je de rokdelen van verschillende patronen kunt combineren. Op deze manier kon je al een Regina maken met de cirkelrok van de Solis, of de hoog-laag Litore-rok etc. De nieuwe halve cirkelrok kan daarom ook met andere patronen worden gemengd. Afgelopen zomer kwam de Valis uit en veel mensen werden verliefd op de lage rug, maar de Valis heeft geen mouwen. Nu maak je met deze add-on een jurk maken met lange mouwen, Valis-rok en lage rug. De lage rugleuning geeft de Regina een luxe feestgevoel, vooral met die opvallende mouwplooien.
I created both dresses from relatively small fabric remnants. The half circle skirt needs a lot less fabric than the gathered circle skirt, but from the brown triangles I could only create the pleated skirt from the original Regina pattern. Even with only the Regina pattern it is now easy to optimize fabric use, just cut the biggest skirt possible from your fabric, all three options ask significant different amounts of fabric.
Ik heb beide jurken gemaakt van relatief kleine stofresten. De halfronde rok heeft veel minder stof nodig dan de gerimpelde cirkelrok (onderdeel van de Regina), maar van de bruine driehoeken kon ik alleen de geplooide rok maken (ook onderdeel van de Regina). Zelfs met alleen het Regina-patroon kan je nu stofgebruik optimaliseren door de rok keuze af te laten hangen van de grootte van stof.
For a few months, I had my eye on the grey combination that I used for our middle daughter's dress. I felt the grey's would go great together, but I feared it might be a bit boring for her. I therefore spiced up the grey fabric combi using a pink neckband and I really love the contrast. Having the same color family, like blue's or grey's makes print mixing easy, especially if you use it with another strong contrast. The strong contrast with the pink pulls the grey fabrics closer together.
Al een tijdje had ik de grijze stoffen combinatie in mijn hoofd die ik gebruikte voor de jurk van onze middelste dochter. Ik dacht al dat de grijze stoffen geweldig goed samen zouden gaan, maar ik vreesde dat het misschien een beetje saai voor haar zou zijn. Daarom combineerde ik het met een roze halsboord en ik ben helemaal blij met het geheel. Stoffen met print uit dezelfde kleurenfamilie zoals blauwe of grijze kleuren zijn extra makkelijk te combineren als je er zo'n sterk contrast bij doet. Het sterke contrast met het roze trekt de grijze stoffen dichter bij elkaar.
